On December 4, 2024, the Meiningen Local Court ordered provisional insolvency proceedings over the assets of FLIGHT DESIGN general aviation GmbH from Hörselberg-Hainich near Eisenach and appointed DiLigens partner Marcello Di Stefano as provisional insolvency administrator.

Di Stefano and his team led by lawyer Robert Jödicke have already familiarized themselves extensively with the case and taken appropriate steps to stabilize business operations, which will continue without restriction despite the insolvency application. A structured investor process has also been initiated. Wages and salaries are secured until at least 31.01.2025.

FLIGHT DESIGN has been a leading brand for air sports and light aircraft for over 35 years. As an EASA-certified development and production company, the aircraft manufacturer operates at its sites in Eisenach and, via subsidiaries, Sumperk (CZ) and Kherson (UA). After a production-related break caused by the shutdown in Ukraine, where up to 600 employees were most recently working, the company has now successfully relocated its production to the Czech Republic and has a high order backlog.

"In the coming days and weeks, we will do everything we can to find a permanent investor solution for FLIGHT DESIGN," says Marcello Di Stefano, a specialist lawyer for insolvency and restructuring law.
