Erfurt/Sömmerda, March 03, 2025 - Febana Feinmechanische Bauelemente GmbH from Sömmerda has taken over the business operations of the insolvent MegaPlast GmbH from Steinbach/Hallenberg with effect from February 1, 2025. Following the opening of insolvency proceedings by Meiningen Local Court on January 1, 2025 and the appointment of attorney Dr. Martin Linsenbarth as insolvency administrator, a takeover solution can now be announced.

Febana Feinmechanische Bauelemente GmbH, a traditional Thuringian company that has been a reliable development partner and producer for the automotive, medical technology, white goods, truck and industrial sectors for over 60 years, is taking over the company. As a result of intensive and constructive discussions between all parties involved, production is transferred to a new hall in Steinbach/Hallenberg.

The creditors' meeting subsequently approved the purchase agreement at its meeting on February 26, 2025. With the takeover, Febana is not only securing the continuation of MegaPlast's existing business activities, but also valuable jobs and expertise.

"We are delighted to integrate MegaPlast's business operations into our corporate structure and to continue our existing customer relationships," explain Frank Siegel, Andreas Panse and Mario Fiedler, Managing Directors of Febana Feinmechanische Bauelemente GmbH. "Our aim is to combine the strengths of both companies and grow together sustainably."

With this acquisition, Febana is sending a clear signal for its growth strategy and strengthening its market position in the field of precision mechanical components.

Insolvency administrator Dr. Linsenbarth commented on the solution reached: "I am happy about this result. In view of the tense economic situation and the resulting general conditions, this can be seen as a success, especially as the expertise remains in Thuringian hands."
